- The Maquet Flow-i represents the future of anaesthesia, combining state-of-the-art ventilation capabilities with precise anaesthetic agent management. The Flow-i incorporates VOLUME REFLECTOR® technology, ensuring continuous and uninterrupted ventilation even in the presence of surgical constraints or changes in patient position. This oxygen-driven technology minimizes the risk of delivering dangerous hypoxic mixtures in the event of leaks during low-flow anaesthesia. The system’s low internal volume allows for rapid changes in gas concentration when needed, facilitating quick wash-in and wash-out of anaesthetic agents. The Flow-i’s electronic injector vaporizers are centrally located and easily accessible, allowing for seamless switching between agents simply by touching the system’s intuitive screen. These vaporizers can be refilled even while in use in the machine, including when one is still being used. Tedious calibration is eliminated as the vaporizers are fully tested during system checkout. Additionally, there is no need to preheat the Desflurane vaporizer before use. The Flow-i’s user interface is designed to be ergonomic and easy to use. The 15-degree colour control panel clearly displays measured parameters, enabling clinicians to quickly access the patient’s status. Menus and submenus are intuitively organized, reducing the risk of information overload. This interface allows anaesthesiologists to fully focus on the patient while maintaining complete control over ventilation and anaesthesia parameters. The Flow-i is designed with an open architecture, allowing for the integration of preferred patient monitoring and data management systems. The position of the control panel and monitor can be exchanged according to clinical needs and preferences. The modular and ergonomic design of the Flow-i allows for flexible use tailored to the specific needs of each operating room. Several models feature height adjustability and extra storage, a rotating arm for flexible screen positioning, tilt screens to enhance visibility, an LED work light, and vertical and horizontal rails for mounting auxiliary equipment.
